Our Story
Originally from Nebraska, I have made South Florida my home for over 20 years now. My first job was in a meat packing house that processed beef. Nebraska is a meat and potatoes kind of place. I grew up hunting and fishing and cooking whatever we got. From pheasant, quail, rabbit, squirrel and all types of freshwater fish. As my love for cooking grew, I got a job as lead cook in a local sports bar that catered to the College World Series every year. But, BBQ is my passion. I have always loved to cook over fire and for about 2 years, that is how I cooked every day. Fast Forward to Florida. As the years went on, we hosted many backyard parties where, you guessed it, I made BBQ. That passion and seeing satisfied friends and family are what led to the creation of JYD BBQ in 2018. It is my mission to serve the best possible BBQ experience you will ever have – I take this BBQ thing kind of serious. With the help of my daughters, Jillian and Julia, and a great team of others when I need them for larger events, we can handle anything. Now we are offering fresh meals delivered weekly with all our smoked meats with regular and Keto side options.
